Dagartech Energy guarantees supply at a Primark shop in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

We completed a new project to guarantee the supply of electricity in emergency situations.

In this case, we designed and manufactured a generator set for installation in the Primark – Las Arenas establishment in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This Irish chain, dedicated to the sale of fashion, beauty and household items at low cost, has 253 shops, 47 of which are located in Spain.

The needs of the client

The 275 kVA generator set was to include anti-condensation heaters and special surface treatments to combat corrosion

The technical management of the project requested the design and manufacture of a generator set to cover the energy needs of the establishment in the event of possible power failures.

Among the most important requirements were the following:

Design and manufacture the generating set according to efficiency – safety criteria, offering reliable equipment with a balanced quality-price ratio.
Come up with a solution that would cope with the extreme humidity conditions of the environment, maximising the durability of the equipment in optimum conditions.
Flexible and comprehensive event monitoring and comprehensive display of engine-related information, thus facilitating maintenance or repair work on the machine.
Guaranteeing more than 10 hours’ autonomy (operating at 100% charge).

Supply scope breakdown of the equipment

Motor-alternator block

Volvo engine (TAD 840 GE).
Stamford Alternator (UCDI274K) with AVR regulation – SX460.
- Anti-condensation resistors in the alternator to ensure optimum alternator performance despite the extreme humidity of the environment.

Control panelsControl panels

DeepSea Electronics control module – – DSE 7320 MKII.
- Switchboard with network monitoring, which will automatically switch the generator set on when an outage is detected in the electrical grid and will automatically switch off when the supply of electricity is restored.
- It makes it possible to monitor a large number of engine parameters and to display information, status and alarm alerts.
- It is equipped with USB, RS232 and RS485 communication ports, in addition to DSENet® for system expansion.
- It offers the option of Ethernet networking.

DSE892 communication module
- Enables the connection of the control unit to external SNMP systems.
- It collects all equipment information (such as general operating status, oil and coolant levels, working hours, etc.) and sends it directly to a specific e-mail address or mobile phone.
- This communication module also enables monitoring and control from a PC.

Fuel Tank

Fuel tank with a capacity of 640 litres located on the bench .
