Dagartech secures power supply for one of the largest egg producers in Portugal

We completed a new energy project in the food industry.
Specifically, we did it for a leading egg production, grading and marketing company in central Portugal.
The installation incorporates a 1,000 kVA open generator set with Cummins engine. The set includes high standard equipment and components of recognised prestige, as well as a design conceived to facilitate maintenance tasks to a maximum, minimising the logistic costs.

The needs of the project

Guaranteeing 4 hours of autonomy and a power requirement of 1,000 kVA ESP became the starting point of this project for one of the most important egg producers in Portugal.

This project required securing the electricity supply for an egg production company with around 2 million laying hens.
The power requirements were sized at 1,000 kVA standby.
This company needed to guarantee at least 4 hours of autonomy at 75% charge.
Flexible and comprehensive event monitoring was also needed, as well as comprehensive display of engine-related information, thus facilitating maintenance or repair work on the machine.

Highlighted technical features

This generator in Dagartech's High Power range includes:

Cummins engine (CUMMINS KTA 38-G5) and Stamford alternator (STAMFORD
HCI634H) with electronic voltage regulation type AVR – PMG + MX321.
Electronic regulation and engine heating system to ensure a
fast and reliable start-up.
Industrial gas exhaust silencer of -10dB(A) and exhaust

compensators.
High-strength steel electro-welded bench tested in a
salt spray chamber according to ASTM B-117-09 (500h resistance).
Fuel tank with a capacity of 995 litres, located on the bench itself. This tank guarantees the 6 hours of autonomy at 75% charge requested by the customer. It also includes a measuring gauge
and liquid drain fitting.
Automatic control module DeepSea Electronics, DSE 7320 MKII allows you to work in manual, automatic or signal mode.
Motorised switchboard of 1600 Amps – 4P.

DeepSea Electronics control module – – DSE 7320 MKII.
Control unit with mains monitoring that will automatically start the generator set when mains power failure is detected and deactivate it, also automatically, when power is restored. It enables monitoring of a wide range of engine parameters and display of information alerts, status and alarms. It includes USB, RS232 and RS485 communication ports, also DSENet® for system expansion. It offers the option of Ethernet network connection.

OTHER EQUIPMENT

High attenuation exhaust silencer (-35 dB(A)).
Electro-welded cab made of high resistance galvanized steel painted with electrostatic epoxy-polyester powder paint.
With interior soundproofing by means of a lining with soundproofing material.
